Ramadan Umrah 2027: Prices and Package Details

Guided Ramadan Umrah programmes for breaking your fast in the shadow of the Kaaba, praying tarawih at Masjid al-Haram and spending Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Power) in worship in the holy lands; flights, accommodation, transfers and visa included.

Ramadan Umrah means spending the most blessed month of the year in the most sacred places on earth. Having suhoor in the quiet hours of Makkah, breaking your fast in the courtyard of Masjid al-Haram alongside thousands of others who are fasting, and praying tarawih facing the Kaaba are experiences felt with this intensity at no other time.

The glad tidings of our beloved Prophet (peace be upon him) that Umrah performed in Ramadan is equal to a Hajj (Bukhari, Muslim) make this month the most popular time for Umrah. With a programme flow that respects the rhythm of fasting and worship, RotaNur makes this busy period simple and well organised for you.

Pilgrims performing tawaf around the Kaaba
Madinah and the Prophet's Mosque

In Ramadan, demand in the holy lands is far higher than during the rest of the year; flight seats and rooms around the Haram fill up months in advance. That is why we plan our programmes early and choose accommodation that makes getting around easier at tarawih and suhoor times.

Our experienced religious guide is by your side, from performing Umrah to the visits in Madinah. Because busy hours, iftar arrangements and rest breaks are announced in advance, you can devote your energy to worship.

How Is Umrah Performed in Ramadan?

Aerial view of Masjid al-Haram and the Kaaba, Makkah

The stages of Umrah in Ramadan are the same as in the other months of the year: you enter ihram by making the intention at the miqat, recite the talbiyah, perform tawaf around the Kaaba at Masjid al-Haram, pray two rak’ahs behind the Station of Ibrahim (Maqam Ibrahim), perform sa’i between Safa and Marwah, and leave ihram by shaving or shortening your hair. To learn the stages in detail, take a look at our how to perform Umrah guide. What makes Ramadan different is that these stages are performed while fasting and during the most crowded period of the year.

Tawaf and Sa’i While Fasting

Tawaf and sa’i performed while fasting can be more tiring, especially in the crowds. For this reason, our guide usually recommends the hours after iftar or the relatively quiet times before dawn for Umrah. Not rushing during tawaf and sa’i, moving together with the group and drinking enough water at suhoor help preserve your energy. We should also remind you that travellers are granted a concession not to fast; you can decide according to your health after consulting your doctor and our guide.

Laylat al-Qadr and I’tikaf

Laylat al-Qadr, described in the Holy Qur’an as better than a thousand months (Surah al-Qadr), falls within the last ten days of Ramadan. Which night it is has not been stated with certainty; it is recommended to spend the last ten days, especially the odd-numbered nights, in worship. In Türkiye, the 27th night is observed as Laylat al-Qadr. I’tikaf, that is, staying in the mosque with the intention of worship during the last ten days, is a sunnah; because entering i’tikaf at Masjid al-Haram and the Prophet’s Mosque depends on that year’s regulations and registration requirements set by the Saudi authorities, we recommend stating your intention when booking.

Ramadan Umrah Prices 2027

Prices for our Umrah programmes start from 80,000 ₺ per person. Even within the same package class, prices for Ramadan dates differ from other times of the year, because demand for flights and hotels peaks in this month. The main factors that determine the price are programme length, which part of the month is covered, the hotel’s distance to the Haram, room type (for 2, 3 or 4 people) and departure city. Current prices per person:

The Ramadan Umrah prices from previous years that are often searched for online do not give a reliable idea of today’s costs; flight, accommodation and exchange rate conditions change every year. The most accurate price for Ramadan dates is shown next to each programme in the list of dates at the top of the page. Türkiye’s Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) also organises its own Umrah programmes for the Ramadan period each year and announces their fees and dates through its official channels; when comparing, we recommend looking not only at the price but also at the length, departure city, hotel location and guidance together. Personal expenses and optional extra excursions are not included in the package. No online payment is taken. After you submit your reservation request, our advisor contacts you, confirms the programme and availability, and guides you through the payment steps.

When Is Ramadan Umrah? Periods of the Month and Crowd Levels

Ramadan follows the Hijri calendar and moves forward by about 10-11 days each year. In 2027, the month falls in February-March, which means the weather in Makkah and Madinah will be much milder than in the summer months. Crowd levels and the experience also vary within the month. If you are wondering about the best time for Umrah in general, you can also read our article on the best time for Umrah.

Accommodation in Makkah and Madinah on Ramadan Umrah

In Ramadan, the hotel’s distance to the Haram matters more than ever, because you go back and forth several times a day for tarawih and tahajjud, and pedestrian traffic around the Haram increases as iftar approaches. Accommodation options differ according to your package class: economy programmes offer accommodation within walking distance of the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah; in luxury programmes, the 5-star hotels are 200-300 m from the Haram; and in premium programmes, you stay in 5-star deluxe hotels 50-100 m from the Haram. If walking to tarawih is your priority, you can also take a look at our walking-distance Umrah programmes.

In Ramadan, hotels change their service schedules to suit iftar and suhoor times. Meal coverage differs by package class and is stated on the relevant product page. Family privacy is respected in room allocation; rooms close to the lift and the entrance can be requested for our elderly guests. Since your sleep pattern will change because of night worship, a quiet room where you can rest comfortably during the day makes Ramadan Umrah noticeably more comfortable.

Transfers, Transport and Guidance in Ramadan

From the moment you land at the airport, our guide welcomes you and organises all your transport. In Ramadan, transfer times are adjusted to iftar and tarawih times; care is taken that the journey between Makkah and Madinah does not coincide with iftar, and if it does, that iftar refreshments are ready on the road. Visits within the city are also planned to avoid the midday heat and the hours when crowds peak.

Our experienced religious guide is the person to ask about Ramadan-specific questions, informing our guests on topics such as the concession for fasting while travelling, the tarawih and tahajjud schedule, fitrah, the acts of worship that can be performed on Laylat al-Qadr and the practice of i’tikaf. During the last ten nights, the guide splits the group into smaller groups, reminds everyone of the meeting points every day and accompanies our elderly guests.

Places to Visit in Makkah and Madinah During Ramadan

Minarets and courtyard of the Prophet's Mosque, Madinah

On Ramadan Umrah, visits are fitted into the programme so as not to disturb the rhythm of worship. In Makkah, in addition to Masjid al-Haram, you visit Jabal al-Nour (the Cave of Hira), Jabal Thawr, Arafat, Muzdalifah and Mina with our guide. A visit to the Cave of Hira has a special meaning in Ramadan, since it is known that the first verses of the Qur’an began to be revealed in this month.

In Madinah, Ramadan is lived with a calmer sense of peace. The long iftar tables laid out in the courtyard of the Prophet’s Mosque are among the finest examples of hospitality. During the days in Madinah, you visit the Rawdah, Jannat al-Baqi, the Uhud Martyrs’ Cemetery, Quba Mosque and Masjid al-Qiblatayn. Visits are scheduled not for the tiring hours before iftar, but for the cool of the morning or suitable times before tarawih.

What to Know Before You Set Off

  • Passport: must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of travel.
  • Visa: we submit your Umrah visa application; you are only asked for the required documents.
  • Health and fasting: get the vaccinations required by the Saudi authorities on time, and talk to your doctor about taking your regular medicines around fasting hours.
  • Clothing: an ihram set for men, and comfortable clothing that meets the requirements of Islamic modest dress for women; shoes that are easy to slip off.
  • Items for Ramadan: a foldable prayer mat, a water bottle, a pocket Qur’an and a power bank.
  • Staying in touch: always keep your hotel card and your guide’s number with you, especially during the last ten nights.
  • Cancellation and changes: the conditions are set out on our cancellation and refund page.

Preparation for Ramadan Umrah begins in the weeks after registration. At the group briefing held before the journey, the prohibitions of ihram, points to keep in mind when travelling while fasting, luggage weight and rules specific to the Ramadan crowds are explained in detail. Don’t forget to leave room in your luggage for Zamzam water and dates on the way back.

The Virtue and Spiritual Atmosphere of Ramadan Umrah

The best-known reason Ramadan Umrah stands out is the glad tidings of our beloved Prophet (peace be upon him): “Umrah performed in Ramadan is equal to a Hajj” (Bukhari, Muslim). Islamic scholars explain this hadith as great glad tidings in terms of reward; performing Umrah in Ramadan does not take the place of Hajj, which is obligatory for those who are able. If you are curious about the differences between Hajj and Umrah, see our article on the differences between Hajj and Umrah.

In Ramadan, the holy lands live to an entirely different rhythm. The day begins early with suhoor and the fajr prayer; the city grows quiet at midday, and after asr the crowds flowing towards the Haram grow as iftar time approaches. Breaking the fast with dates and Zamzam at the call to prayer, the maghrib prayer that follows, the long tarawih and the supplications that continue late into the night are all part of this rhythm. Sharing the same table with Muslims from every corner of the world lets you feel first-hand what it means to be one Ummah.

Umrah While Fasting: What Is a Day in Ramadan Like?

On Ramadan Umrah, the daily schedule is shaped by the daily prayers and by iftar and suhoor times. The table below shows the general flow of a typical Ramadan day in Makkah; times vary with the prayer times:

Time of dayScheduleTip
SuhoorSuhoor, then going to the Haram for the fajr prayerHave plenty of water and high-fibre foods
After fajrTawaf, Qur’an recitation or rest at the hotelKeep your sleep pattern steady to save energy for night worship
MiddayDhuhr prayer and rest; no visits are scheduledProtect yourself from the sun and avoid tiring walks
Asr – iftarGoing to the Haram early, supplication and waiting for iftarLeave early to find a spot, and take your prayer mat with you
Iftar and eveningThe fast is broken with dates and Zamzam, and the maghrib prayer is performedLeave heavy meals until after tarawih
Isha and tarawihTarawih prayer together with ishaDon’t forget the meeting point
Last ten nightsTahajjud and supplication after tarawihBe sure to plan a short nap during the day

Our guide adapts this schedule to the group’s condition to keep the balance between worship and rest. In the first days, the programme is kept lighter, as the body may need time to get used to fasting and travel fatigue.

Tips for a Safe and Peaceful Ramadan in the Crowds

In Ramadan, and especially during the last ten nights, the Haram and its surroundings are at their most crowded of the year. These crowds are part of the spiritual fervour and, with good preparation, can be experienced in peace. We recommend that you carry your valuables in an ihram belt or neck wallet, keep your phone charged and enter the Haram through the gates designated by your guide. If you get separated from the group, simply go to the pre-arranged meeting point and call our 24/7 support line.

Being patient in the crowds, not hurting anyone and making room for others are behaviours in keeping with the spirit of Ramadan and Umrah. Sharing your dates with the person next to you while waiting for iftar is one of the most beautiful ways to partake in the blessings of this month.

Eid al-Fitr, Fitrah and Preparing for the Return

On the Full Ramadan programme, the last days of the journey are filled with the excitement of the approaching Eid. Depending on your return date, you may have the opportunity to perform the Eid prayer at Masjid al-Haram or the Prophet’s Mosque. The day of Eid is confirmed by the sighting of the crescent moon; our guide follows the latest situation and informs you of the return plan.

Fitrah (sadaqat al-fitr) is an act of worship that is recommended to be paid before the Eid prayer. You can choose to pay your fitrah in Türkiye before the journey or to deliver it to those in need in the holy lands; you can ask our guide which option suits you. Taking Zamzam water and Madinah dates home to your loved ones is a lovely way to share the blessings of Ramadan.

Why Choose RotaNur for Ramadan Umrah?

Ramadan is the most challenging period for organising Umrah: flights and hotels fill up early, crowds grow and the fasting routine affects every plan. RotaNur plans this period months in advance, choosing accommodation to suit tarawih and suhoor routines and arranging transfers and visits around iftar time. Our experienced religious guides are by your side at every stage, from the finer points of Umrah while fasting to the worship schedule of the last ten nights.

Transparent pricing, departures from Istanbul and Konya, advisor-guided booking with no online payment, and a 24/7 support line let you plan your Ramadan Umrah with peace of mind.
