The Bosnia & Balkans Tour is organised for those who wish to discover the five-century Ottoman heritage of the Balkans in Sarajevo, Mostar and the historic towns around them.
The programme takes you from the narrow streets of Baščaršija to the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque, and from the Mostar Bridge to the Blagaj Tekke at the source of the Buna River. Accompanied by our expert guide, the region’s recent history and its magnificent nature are also part of the programme. The tour is planned at a relaxed pace for families, associations and guests visiting the Balkans for the first time who want to see Ottoman architecture on site.
Day-by-Day Programme
- Day 1: Arrival in Sarajevo; Baščaršija, the Sebilj and the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque.
- Day 2: Sarajevo city tour: the Latin Bridge, the Kovači Martyrs’ Cemetery where Alija Izetbegović is buried, historic sites and the Tunnel Museum.
- Day 3: Mostar and its historic bridge (Stari Most), the Blagaj Tekke and Počitelj.
- Day 4: Travnik and the surrounding towns; mosques, mansions and fortresses from the Ottoman period.
- Day 5: Green valleys, waterfalls and nature excursions; the route is set according to the season.
- Day 6: Free time and the return flight.

Accommodation is planned in Sarajevo and in towns along the route, in hotels with easy access to the historic centres, with breakfast included. The exact hotels are confirmed in writing once the date has been finalised, and for the meals included in the programme, restaurants that respect halal requirements are chosen.

Yes. On the third day, the historic bridge in Mostar, the Blagaj Tekke at the source of the Buna River and the Ottoman town of Počitelj are visited together.

How much walking does the tour involve?
The historic centres of Sarajevo and Mostar are explored on foot, and comfortable shoes are recommended for the cobbled streets. If guests with limited mobility let us know about their situation when booking, the pace is adjusted accordingly.
