Economy Hajj 2027: Prices and Package Details

An economy Hajj package designed to help you fulfil the obligation of Hajj without straining your budget: a private Hajj programme, accommodation, an Arafat tent and guidance from an experienced religious guide. Review its scope, the items that affect the price and the preparation steps.

The economy Hajj package is designed for prospective pilgrims who want to perform all the rites of Hajj in full but need to use their budget carefully. The value of the worship is not measured by the class of the package; every pilgrim who stands at Arafat fulfils the same essential pillar.

The priority in this package is to strip out unnecessary extras and build the core services on a solid footing: a private Hajj programme planned around the days of the rites, accommodation, an Arafat tent and guidance from an experienced religious guide. Hotel details and the scope are clearly set out on the product page.

On the economy package, too, the preparation process is handled with the same care as on the other packages. Rites training is given before departure, the flow of the days at the holy sites is explained and a packing list is shared.

Registration and participation requirements are announced each year by Diyanet (Türkiye's Presidency of Religious Affairs), and private Hajj organisations are also run within this framework through authorised agencies. Our consultants follow the current announcements together with you and help you set up a payment arrangement that suits your budget.

What Is Included in Our Economy Hajj Packages?

Economy Hajj is a package designed for those who want to fulfil all the obligatory and necessary acts of Hajj in full while using their budget in a balanced way. In this package, comfort items are kept simple, while the services that directly affect worship are planned with care. The core scope of our economy Hajj package is as follows:

  • Private Hajj programme; a schedule planned around the days of Tarwiyah, Arafat, Muzdalifah and Mina
  • Accommodation; hotel details and room layout are set out on the product page and in the contract
  • Arafat tent; tent arrangements for the day of standing as part of the organisation
  • Guidance from an experienced religious guide; with the group at every stage of the rites
  • Rites training; a briefing on ihram, the stoning and the tawafs before the journey
  • Transfers and transport between the holy sites; according to the organisation plan and official regulations
  • 24/7 support line; during the preparation period and throughout the journey

When planning your budget, you also need to take the cost of supplies into account. You can get everything you need, such as ihram, a pebble pouch, an ihram belt and a Zamzam water container, at affordable prices in one go from our Hajj essentials category and avoid last-minute shopping before the journey.

Economy Hajj Packages Compared

Seeing the economy package side by side with the other options is the easiest way to understand what you are paying for and why. The table shows the key services and starting prices per person of our Hajj packages; prices are pulled automatically from the product pages.

PackageHighlightsPrice per person
Luxury Hajj Tour5-star hotel, Close to the Haram, Full board560,000 ₺
Economy Hajj TourPrivate programme, Accommodation, Guidance300,000 ₺
Premium Hajj TourClosest to the Kaaba, Premium tent, High-speed train1,133,499 ₺ 850,000 ₺

The economy package is a sensible choice for prospective pilgrims who are used to walking, in good health and happy with simple accommodation. Those who want more comfort at the hotel, full board and proximity to the Haram can look at the luxury Hajj package, while those seeking accommodation closest to the Kaaba, a premium tent and a boutique group can consider the premium Hajj package.

When making your choice, look not only at the starting price but also at the details that affect daily life: how you will get from the hotel to the Haram, the room layout and the meals included. You can find the general framework of all our packages on our private Hajj page.

The table is a general example; the total length and the order of the days in Madinah vary depending on the flight plan. The exact programme is shared in writing after booking. On the economy package the worship calendar is the same as on the other packages; the difference lies in the accommodation and transport arrangements.

Making good use of the preparation days is the key to getting through the days at the holy sites comfortably. During these days our guide reviews the rites with the group, reminds everyone of the supplications to be recited at Arafat and explains how the stoning will be organised at Mina.

How Is the Economy Hajj Performed?

Pilgrims performing tawaf around the Kaaba

On the economy package, as on the other packages, Hajj is performed on the basis of the religious guidance (ilmihal) published by Diyanet (Türkiye’s Presidency of Religious Affairs). Most Turkish pilgrims choose Hajj al-Tamattu: Umrah is performed first, pilgrims leave ihram, and on the day of Tarwiyah they enter ihram again for Hajj. Our guide demonstrates this sequence in practice during the training.

Ihram and Intention

Ihram is the opening condition of the act of Hajj. Men wrap themselves in two unstitched pieces of cloth, while women enter ihram in their normal modest clothing. Once the intention has been made and the talbiyah recited, actions such as wearing perfume, cutting hair and nails, hunting and arguing become prohibited. On the economy package, buying a budget-friendly ihram set before you set off is a practical solution.

The Standing at Arafat

The standing at Arafat is the most important pillar of Hajj; being within the boundaries of Arafat for even a short time after the sun passes its zenith (zawal) on 9 Dhul-Hijjah fulfils the standing. On our economy package, the Day of Arafah is spent in supplication, remembrance (dhikr) and worship in the tent provided as part of the organisation. Our guide stays with the group throughout the day, leads the supplication of the standing together with everyone and manages the move to Muzdalifah after sunset.

The night at Muzdalifah that follows Arafat, the stoning of the Jamarat, the sacrifice, the shave and Tawaf al-Ifadah are also completed under our guide’s supervision, in the proper order and manner. On the economy package these stages are planned with the same care as on the other packages; the group moves together and no prospective pilgrim is left alone during the rites.

Economy Hajj Prices 2027

Our economy Hajj package starts from 300,000 ₺ per person; the current price of the economy package is shown in the list below and on the product page. These prices apply to RotaNur packages. The Hajj fees Diyanet announces for its own organisation are separate and are published each year in official announcements. Current per-person prices:

Hajj prices are set anew each year according to changes in accommodation costs, transport, services at the holy sites and exchange rates. On the economy package, the main factors that keep the price down are the hotel class and room layout; there is no compromise on the core services related to worship. Personal expenses and services not listed in the contract are not included in the package.

When comparing prices, you need to look not only at the figure but also at what it covers. The apparent difference between two offers often comes from items such as hotel location, meals, the Arafat and Mina arrangements or the sacrifice. The scope of our economy package is itemised on the product page and in the contract, so you know from the start what you are getting for the amount you pay and face no surprises during the journey.

When Is Hajj Performed? Budget and Preparation Periods

Because Hajj is tied to the month of Dhul-Hijjah in the Hijri calendar, it moves forward by about 10-11 days each year in the Gregorian calendar. The most important thing for an economical Hajj plan is to use your time well: not squeezing payments, shopping and preparation into the final months eases the pressure on your budget.

Accommodation on the Economy Package

On the economy Hajj package, accommodation is planned to strike a balance between budget and needs. The hotel’s name, location and room layout are clearly written on the product page and in the contract, so you know where you will stay before you set off. For general information, see our Makkah hotels page.

Room sharing is an important factor in the price of the economy package; rooms shared by more people lower the per-person amount. Getting along with your roommates is also part of the patience and solidarity of Hajj. At Arafat, the day of standing is spent in the tent provided as part of the organisation; the arrangements for the stay at Mina are determined by the allocation of the competent authorities.

On the economy package, daily transport arrangements may vary depending on the hotel’s distance from the Haram. That is why we recommend asking your consultant during registration how to get from the hotel to Masjid al-Haram, what time you will need to set off for the daily prayers and what arrangements will apply on busy days. Practical items such as a small extension lead, earplugs and a personal towel also make the time you spend in your room more comfortable. As hotels are filled to capacity during the Hajj season, there may be waits for lifts and at mealtimes; meeting these waits with patience and following the group’s plan protects both your peace of mind and that of your roommates.

Transfers, Transport Between the Holy Sites and Guidance

During the days of Hajj, transport follows the times and routes set by the competent authorities. When moving from Mina to Arafat, from Arafat to Muzdalifah and from there back to Mina, it is important for both safety and the order of worship that the group moves together. Airport and intercity transfers are carried out according to the organisation plan.

Guidance is complete on the economy package as well. Our experienced religious guide provides the rites training, plans the stoning times with the group, sets meeting points in the crowds and answers your questions about worship. If you would like to read up on the basics of Hajj in advance, our Hajj guide is a good resource.

To avoid getting separated from your group during the days at the holy sites, always carry the badge and hotel card given to you by the guide. It is useful to have a power bank to keep your phone charged and to memorise the group’s meeting point in case you get lost. Before each move, our guide gives a short briefing, looks after guests who walk slowly and makes sure the group moves together.

Places to Visit in Makkah and Madinah

Minarets and courtyard of the Prophet's Mosque, Madinah

Outside the days of Hajj, important sites of Islamic history in Makkah such as Jabal al-Nour and Jabal Thawr can be visited. In Madinah, praying at the Prophet’s Mosque (Masjid an-Nabawi) and visiting the Rawdah is one of the spiritual high points of the programme. The Uhud Martyrs’ Cemetery, Quba Mosque, Masjid al-Qiblatayn and Jannat al-Baqi are also among the places visited with the guide.

On the economy package, visits are made as a group and in line with the programme flow. At every stop our guide briefly tells the history of the place, so you enjoy a journey rich in both worship and history.

What You Need to Know Before You Travel

  • Registration requirements: check that year’s registration and participation conditions in Diyanet’s announcements.
  • Documents: check your passport’s validity and the required photo dimensions in advance.
  • Visa: the process follows the official procedure as part of the organisation; the decision rests with the competent authorities.
  • Health: get the vaccinations required for Hajj and obtain a doctor’s report for any chronic conditions.
  • Cash: set aside a reasonable amount for personal expenses and carry the money in your ihram belt.
  • Luggage: do not exceed the weight limit; leave room for Zamzam water and gifts on the way back.
  • Cancellation and changes: the conditions are set out on our cancellation and refund page.

The biggest saving on an economical Hajj journey comes from good preparation. Buying supplies early, completing documents on time and keeping up with health checks largely prevent unexpected expenses during the journey.

How Do You Plan an Economy Hajj Budget?

A Hajj budget is not made up of the package price alone. Calculating in advance the items that may arise before and during the journey allows you to worship with peace of mind. We recommend considering the following headings when planning:

  • Package price: clarify the payment plan in the contract and tie it to a schedule.
  • Sacrifice: confirm whether the cost of the sacrifice is included in the package.
  • Supplies: list items such as ihram, slippers, a backpack and medication.
  • Communication: factor in the cost of international roaming or a local SIM card.
  • Gifts: set a limit for the Zamzam water, dates and gifts you will buy on the way back.

It is important to be cautious about going on Hajj with borrowed money; for Hajj to be obligatory, a person must have the financial means to cover their basic needs and debts. If you have any doubts about this, we recommend consulting a religious official.

Differences Between Economy, Luxury and Premium Hajj

The worship calendar, approach to guidance and rites training are the same on all three packages. The differences lie in the accommodation, meals, transport and group arrangements that affect daily life. The table below summarises the key services highlighted on each package’s product page; the detailed scope is set out on the relevant product page.

PackageKey servicesWho is it suitable for?
Economy HajjPrivate Hajj programme, accommodation, guidance, Arafat tentProspective pilgrims who want to use their budget in a balanced way and are used to walking
Luxury Hajj5-star hotel, close proximity, full board, experienced guideThose seeking comfort in accommodation and meals who want to reduce daily walking
Premium HajjAccommodation closest to the Kaaba, premium tent, high-speed train, boutique groupThose who prioritise the highest level of comfort, a small group and personal attention

A prospective pilgrim who chooses the economy package stands at the same Arafat, stones the same Jamarat and circles the same Kaaba as a pilgrim on the luxury or premium package. That is why, when deciding, we recommend using as your criteria not the value of the worship but your health, your age and how much daily fatigue you can cope with. For elderly guests or those with walking difficulties, a hotel close to the Haram often justifies the difference in budget, while young and healthy prospective pilgrims can also have a comfortable Hajj on the economy package.

Tips for First-Time Pilgrims

For first-time pilgrims, the most valuable preparation is learning the rites in advance. Knowing how Hajj differs from Umrah, understanding where you will be on which day and memorising the prohibitions of ihram greatly reduce the stress of the days of Hajj. Our article on the differences between Hajj and Umrah offers a simple starting point.

Physical preparation is just as important as knowledge. Starting daily walks a few months before the journey, walking in comfortable, well-worn shoes and preparing your body for hot weather make the days at the holy sites easier. Helping one another within the group, making room for elderly pilgrims and being patient are behaviours in keeping with the spirit of Hajj.

Registration and Regulations: Official Announcements Come First

In Türkiye, Hajj organisations are run under the authority of Diyanet and within the framework of the relevant legislation. Private Hajj programmes are likewise organised through agencies authorised to organise Hajj, in compliance with these rules. As registration, renewal and participation conditions may be announced anew each year, you should not rely on information from previous years.

If you are curious about how registration and the priority order work in Diyanet’s own organisation, see our Hajj via the Diyanet lottery page. Do not trust offers that present the registration or visa outcome as if already confirmed; always verify the current conditions with official sources.
