An ihram belt with a wallet is the most practical helper for stopping the ihram sheet from slipping at the waist while keeping your valuables on you. As the ihram has no pockets, carrying items such as your passport, ID, bank cards, hotel key card and cash safely becomes all the more important. With its flexible elastic band, adjustable buckle and zippered compartments at the front, the RotaNur Ihram Belt with Zippered Wallet both secures the izar and works as a small wallet. It leaves your hands free in the crowds of the Hajj days.

About the Product

The belt consists of a flexible elastic band that sits comfortably at the waist and an adjustable plastic buckle that is easy to fasten and release. At the front are two compartments that close with a zip, where you can keep your passport, folded banknotes, cards and hotel key card. Small phones may also fit, but we recommend checking the dimensions against your phone model. The belt is white to match the ihram, weighs approximately 150 grams and takes up very little space in a handbag when folded. You can use the same belt on your Umrah journeys too.

Key Features

  • Two zippered compartments for your passport, cards and money
  • Flexible elastic band for all-day comfort
  • Adjustable plastic buckle that opens and closes easily
  • Stops the izar from slipping at the waist
  • White colour to match the ihram
  • Lightweight and foldable; also suitable for Umrah

How to Use

  1. Adjust the belt to your waist, choosing a length at which the elastic sits without squeezing.
  2. After wrapping the izar around your waist, fasten the belt just below its top edge.
  3. Place your belongings in the zippered compartments and close the zips completely.
  4. In crowds, keep the compartment side of the belt at the front so that your belongings stay under your control.
  5. When it gets dirty, hand-wash it in lukewarm water with unscented detergent and dry it in the shade.

Use During Umrah and Hajj

While in ihram, men do not wear sewn clothing; instead they wear the ihram, made of two unstitched sheets, keep their heads uncovered and choose slippers or sandals that leave the upper part of the foot exposed. Women, on the other hand, enter ihram in their usual modest clothing and do not cover their faces or hands. An ihram belt or waist bag may be used to secure the ihram and to carry items such as money and a phone. Since applying scent is prohibited while in ihram, make sure your care products are unscented. Who Is It For?

It is an essential item for men travelling for Hajj and Umrah. It is especially suitable for prospective Hajj travellers who will spend long hours outdoors in an ihram without pockets, move through the crowds at Mina and Arafat and want to keep their documents on them. It is also practical for women who want to wear it under their clothing like a slim money belt.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is wearing an ihram belt one of the prohibitions of ihram?

No. According to the statements of Diyanet (Türkiye’s Presidency of Religious Affairs), fastening a belt around the waist while in ihram does not require a penalty, and the fact that the belt is sewn does not change this.

Will a phone fit?

Small phones may fit; for large-screen models, we recommend checking the dimensions.

Is the belt waterproof?

As the belt is made of fabric and elastic, it is not waterproof. We recommend taking the belt off during wudu and ghusl to protect your documents.

Can I fasten the ihram sheet with a pin or clip?

According to Hanafi jurisprudence, tying the ends of the ihram sheet together or fastening them with a pin is considered disliked (makruh). Fastening a belt around the waist to secure the izar, however, is permitted.
