RotaNur Children’s Ihram has been made in a smaller size for boys going on Umrah with their families. Its 100% cotton towel fabric feels soft on children’s skin, and its lightweight 1000-gram build and 90×180-centimetre pieces let young travellers move about freely without tripping over the sheet as they walk.
About the Product
Children who have not yet reached puberty may also enter ihram under the supervision of their parents. In that case, an adult ihram is both too heavy and too long for a child; a sheet that drags along the ground can make them trip while walking and quickly gets dirty. The children’s ihram solves this problem. Each piece measures approximately 90×180 centimetres and suits children between about 120 and 155 centimetres tall. The total weight of 1000 grams provides sufficient coverage without weighing down the child’s shoulders. The cotton towel texture absorbs moisture and becomes softer with every wash. The set is delivered in a small zippered bag, so parents can keep their child’s ihram separate from their own belongings and neatly organised. Using a thin belt for the child as well stops the izar from slipping.

How to Use
- Wash the ihram before your journey and practise wrapping it together with your child at home.
- Wrap the izar around your child’s waist and adjust any extra length by folding it inwards at the top edge.
- Secure the izar with a thin fabric belt, taking care not to fasten it too tightly.
- Drape the rida over your child’s shoulders and check that it does not get tangled around their feet while walking.
- At busy times, keep your child close to you and check their ihram at regular intervals.
Use During Umrah and Hajj
While in ihram, men do not wear sewn clothing; instead they wear the ihram, made of two unstitched sheets, keep their heads uncovered and choose slippers or sandals that leave the upper part of the foot exposed. Women, on the other hand, enter ihram in their usual modest clothing and do not cover their faces or hands. An ihram belt or waist bag may be used to secure the ihram and to carry items such as money and a phone. Since applying scent is prohibited while in ihram, make sure your care products are unscented. For detailed information, please see our Umrah Guide and Hajj Guide.
Who Is It For?
It is suitable for boys roughly 120 to 155 centimetres tall who are setting off on Umrah or Hajj with their families. For younger children, the sheet can be used folded inwards. For teenagers taller than 160 centimetres, we recommend our adult ihrams. In families where siblings travel together, buying a separate set for each child means nobody goes without an ihram while the others are being washed and dried.

Frequently Asked Questions
At what age should my child use this ihram?
We recommend going by height rather than age. This ihram suits heights of approximately 120 to 155 centimetres, which for most children corresponds to ages 7 to 12.
Do children have to enter ihram?
Ihram is not an obligation for children who have not yet reached puberty; however, they may enter ihram under their parents’ supervision. For details, you can ask your group’s religious guide.
Can younger children use it?
Yes, younger children can also use it with the extra length folded inwards. With very young children, you will need to check more often that the sheet has not slipped off.
Does a child need a belt?
As children are more active, we recommend securing the izar with a thin fabric belt. Our zippered fabric belt, with its elasticated design, is also suitable for children.
Is it the same fabric as the adult ihram?
Yes, it is the same type of fabric as our adult cotton towel ihram; only the size and fabric weight have been adapted for children.
