Oud attar is the noblest and best-known note in the Eastern fragrance tradition. This deep, woody and slightly sweet scent, drawn from the resin of the agarwood tree, greets you in the streets of Makkah and Madinah, in the bakhoor-filled air of mosques and in the gift bags of returning pilgrims. RotaNur Oud Attar captures this character in an alcohol-free, oil-based formula, presented in a 6 ml roll-on bottle. Just a few dabs leave a strong yet refined trail that you will notice for hours.

Scent Profile

  • Top notes: Saffron, light spice
  • Heart notes: Oud (agarwood), rose petal
  • Base notes: Amber, sandalwood, musk

The oud note brings together woody, smoky and subtle leather and resin tones. It can feel intense at first, then softens within a few minutes into a warm, velvety scent. It is a particularly striking choice in cool weather, in the evening and on special occasions. We recommend using it sparingly.

Key Features

  • Alcohol-free, oil-based oud attar formula

  3. For a softer trail, you can layer it with white musk attar.
  4. Do a stain test before applying to light-coloured clothing.
  5. Close the cap tightly and store the bottle in a cool place.

Use During Umrah and Hajj

According to Hanafi jurisprudence, wearing a pleasant scent before entering ihram is recommended (mustahab); once you are in ihram, however, applying scent to the body, the ihram garments or the place where you sleep is among the prohibitions of ihram. For this reason, use your attar before making the intention for ihram, after ghusl or wudu, and do not reapply it while you are in ihram. While in ihram, we recommend choosing unscented care products suitable for ihram. Once you have come out of ihram, you can wear your attar with complete peace of mind for your prayers in Makkah and Madinah, as well as on Fridays and Eid days. For detailed guidance on this subject, you can consult the statements of Diyanet (Türkiye’s Presidency of Religious Affairs) on the prohibitions of ihram.

Who Is It For?

It is ideal for those who love rich, characterful and traditional Eastern scents, who enjoy the fragrance of bakhoor and who value longevity above all. Oud is one of the most popular gifts brought back from Hajj and Umrah, which makes it a meaningful present, especially for elders and for loved ones with a passion for fragrance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is oud attar pure oud oil?

No. RotaNur Oud Attar is an alcohol-free attar that carries the oud note. Pure oud oil is a separate, far more expensive product.

Is the oud scent very heavy?

Oud is an intense note, so we suggest starting with a single dab. It softens on the skin within a few minutes.

Can oud and musk be worn together?

Yes. Apply oud first and then white musk on top for a more balanced, softer scent.

Can it be used while in ihram?

No. Scent is not applied while in ihram; use the attar before entering ihram.
