The standing (wuquf) at Arafat from noon until evening, the coach and group meeting points, waiting for dawn at Muzdalifah… Standing for hours or sitting on the ground throughout Hajj is tiring, especially for those with knee or back problems. The RotaNur Folding Stool, with its cross-braced steel frame and durable fabric seat, gives you a place to sit that sets up in seconds wherever you need it.

About the Product

The stool consists of a cross (X) frame made of painted steel tubes and an Oxford polyester fabric seat sewn onto the frame. The plastic caps on the feet do not scratch the floor and reduce slipping. When folded, it becomes a slim bar that you can hang on your back or shoulder in its bag with a shoulder strap. No separate parts or tools are needed to set it up; when you open the legs, the seat pulls taut by itself. In crowded areas, position the stool so that it does not block the way for the people around you, and fold it back into its bag when you are not using it.

Key Features

  • Cross-braced steel frame for a stable seat
  • Durable Oxford polyester seat
  • Practical design that opens and folds in one motion
  • Plastic foot caps that reduce slipping
  • Carry bag with shoulder strap
  • A more comfortable seat than the ground for those with knee or back problems

How to Use

  1. Take the stool out of its bag and open the legs out to either side.
  2. Make sure that the seat is fully taut before you sit down.
  3. Use it on flat, firm ground; do not stand on it to reach higher.
  4. At the Masjid al-Haram and the Prophet’s Mosque, follow the directions of the staff.
  5. After use, fold it and put it back in its bag.

Using It on Your Umrah and Hajj Journey

An Umrah or Hajj journey means long walks to and around the Masjid al-Haram and the Prophet’s Mosque (Masjid an-Nabawi), dense crowds and, very often, a hot climate. When every item you take with you is light, practical and durable, it is easier to focus on your worship. As applying scent is prohibited while in ihram, remember to choose unscented care products. For a complete packing list, take a look at our Umrah Guide and our Hajj Guide.

Who Is It For?

It is suitable for older people preparing for Hajj, those who find it hard to sit on the ground because of knee, hip or back problems, and anyone who wants to get through long waits more comfortably. For other practical items to carry with you during the days of Hajj, take a look at our Mina and Jamarat day bag products.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the stool be taken on a plane?

Folded, it fits in your suitcase. As cabin baggage rules vary from airline to airline, we recommend packing it in your checked baggage.

Can it be used in the Arafat tent?

Yes. If space inside the tent is tight, you can also use it in the shaded areas in front of the tent.

Can I pray sitting on the stool?

For the rulings on praying seated for those who have difficulty standing or prostrating, refer to the statements of Türkiye’s Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) and consult your group leader.

Can the fabric be cleaned?

You can wipe it with a damp cloth; fold the stool only once it has dried.
