There is no specially tailored ihram garment for women; according to the guidance of Diyanet (Türkiye’s Presidency of Religious Affairs), ordinary clothing that meets the requirements of modest Islamic dress is worn and the face remains uncovered. The prayer dress in this set was chosen with that need in mind: its headscarf section is integrated into the dress, it zips up at the front, has a loose cut and is made from a crease-resistant fabric. It goes on in a single movement and is quickly straightened after wudu. The cotton under-scarf cap holds the hair in place and stops the headscarf from slipping. The soft-sole slippers make it easy to move between the hotel and the mosque. The care products with no added perfume or essence are ready for your days in ihram, while the neck pouch helps you carry your passport safely. How to Use
- Wash the dress once before your trip; do not use fabric softener.
- Put on the under-scarf cap, slip the dress on through the headscarf section and close the zip.
- Wash with the unscented products before entering ihram, and use only these for as long as you are in ihram.
- Hang the dress to dry at the hotel; the fabric does not need ironing.
Using It on Your Umrah and Hajj Journey
While in ihram, men do not wear sewn clothing; they wear the ihram, made of two unsewn pieces of cloth, keep their heads uncovered and choose slippers or sandals that leave the top of the foot uncovered. Women, on the other hand, enter ihram in their ordinary clothing that meets the requirements of modest Islamic dress; they do not cover their faces or hands. An ihram belt or a waist bag can be used to secure the ihram and to carry items such as money and a phone.
