The Men’s Ihram Sandals were designed with the criterion set out by Diyanet (Türkiye’s Presidency of Religious Affairs) for men in ihram in mind: the heel stays uncovered, and the cross straps over the toes do not fully cover the instep. With straps that stand up to wudu water and a light sole, they stay with you from the miqat to tawaf and from your hotel to the Haram.
About the Product
According to statements by Diyanet’s High Council of Religious Affairs, a man in ihram must keep his heels and the raised bones on the top of his feet (ka’b) uncovered, and the upper part of his feet must not be fully covered; slippers with a back strap may also be worn. With this criterion in mind, the RotaNur Men’s Ihram Sandals use two thin cross straps at the front, close to the toes, leaving the middle of the instep and the heel uncovered. The hook-and-loop back strap can be attached as you wish or removed entirely, so the product can be worn either as slippers or as sandals. The straps are made of soft, water-resistant polyurethane and dry quickly after wudu. The light EVA midsole and rubber outsole offer a comfortable step on hot ground and on long walks. As everyone’s feet are shaped differently, we recommend putting the sandals on when they arrive and checking that your instep and heel remain uncovered.

How to Use
- Put the sandals on and check in a mirror: your heel and the middle of your instep should remain uncovered.
- Attach the back strap in crowds and on long walks; you can remove it at the hotel and for short distances.
- After wudu, shake the sandals off and leave them to dry for a few minutes.
- At the entrance to the Haram, put the sandals in your shoe bag and carry them with you.
Use on Your Umrah and Hajj Journey
While in ihram, men do not wear stitched clothing; they wear the ihram, made of two unstitched pieces of cloth, leave their heads uncovered and choose slippers or sandals that leave the top of the foot exposed. Women, on the other hand, enter ihram in their usual modest clothing and do not cover their faces or hands. An ihram belt or a waist bag can be used to hold the ihram in place and to carry items such as money and a phone. Can they be worn with the back strap attached?

Are they slippery when wet?
The rubber outsole improves grip; however, any footwear can slip on wet marble and in wudu areas. We recommend walking slowly and carefully in these areas.
Which size should I buy?
Choose your everyday shoe size. If you are between sizes, go for the larger one so that your toes do not extend past the end of the sole.
Can the sandals be worn outside of ihram?
Yes. After leaving ihram, you can attach the back strap and wear them for walks around town, during your visit to Madinah and as everyday sandals in the summer months once you are back home.
