How to Use
- Before travelling, wash the ihram once with unscented detergent and practise wrapping it at home.
- Wrap the izar around your waist so that the ends overlap, fold the top edge inwards and secure it with a belt.
- Drape the rida so that it covers both shoulders; for the practices during tawaf, follow the guidance of your group leader.
- Dry a wet ihram without wringing it, in a shady, well-ventilated place.
- Between uses, fold the ihram and keep it in its bag.
Use on Your Umrah and Hajj Journey
While in ihram, men do not wear stitched clothing; they wear the ihram made of two unstitched sheets, leave their heads uncovered and choose slippers or sandals that leave the top of the foot exposed. Women enter ihram in their usual modest clothing and do not cover their faces or hands. An ihram belt or waist bag can be used to secure the ihram and to carry items such as money and a phone. Does it shed lint on the first wash?

I am tall – will this size be enough?
