How Do You Travel to Umrah from Kayseri?

Departure point, flight route and transfers

The departure point used on our Umrah tours from Kayseri is Kayseri Erkilet Airport (ASR). On the day of departure, we meet our guests at the airport; baggage drop, ticket and passport checks are carried out with the assistance of our guides. Before the flight, a short briefing is given on ihram, the Umrah rites and the flow of the programme.

On 6 of the 9 dates departing from Kayseri, the route starts directly in Makkah or Madinah; on the other 3 dates, the flight connects via Istanbul, and the connecting flight is included in the package price. On programmes that begin in Makkah, the first Umrah is performed immediately after arrival; on programmes that begin in Madinah, the Prophet’s Mosque is visited first, and guests then enter ihram at the miqat of Dhul Hulayfah before travelling on to Makkah. The route for each date is shown in the Departure column of the table.

On arrival in Saudi Arabia, transfers from the airport to the hotel, intercity journeys and visit programmes are made by air-conditioned coach. On the way back, a transfer from the hotel to the airport is likewise provided, and our guests are welcomed back in Kayseri. Guests joining from surrounding provinces such as Nevşehir, Niğde, Yozgat and Sivas can get information from our advisors about travelling to the departure point.

What Determines Umrah Prices from Kayseri?

Hotel distance, room type, season and duration

When Umrah prices are calculated, the most decisive item is the hotel’s distance from the Kaaba. On our economy programmes departing from Kayseri, the hotels in Makkah are 2.5-4 km from the Haram, and a shuttle service runs at every prayer time. This distance drops to 300-500 metres on the walking-distance programmes, 200-300 metres on the luxury programmes and 50-100 metres on the Premium programmes. Elderly guests and families with children are far more comfortable in hotels close to the Haram.

Room sharing also has a direct effect on the per-person price. A 4-person room is the most economical option; in 3-person and 2-person rooms, the per-person price rises step by step. Couples who want to travel on their own choose a 2-person room, while large families prefer a 4-person room. The travel period matters too: the blessed month of Ramadan, the mid-term school holiday and the holy nights (kandil) are the times of highest demand.

The length of the programme and the flight plan are the final factors. Short programmes are budget-friendly for working people with limited leave, while longer programmes are ideal for those who want to devote more time to worship. Guests living in Kayseri fly direct on some dates and via Istanbul on others; connecting flights are included in the package price. You can find the current prices for all dates, set out transparently, in the table on this page.

When Should You Go on Umrah from Kayseri?

The 2026-2027 season, the holy nights, the mid-term school holiday and Ramadan

Umrah is an act of worship that can be performed for most of the year, outside the Hajj period. In the 2026-2027 season, our first group from Kayseri sets off in November 2026, and dates continue until March 2027. Temperatures start to fall as autumn progresses; in the first weeks of the season, the crowds are relatively small and prices are favourable. The mid-term break in November (16-20 November 2026) is the first busy period and a popular choice for families with children.

Demand rises in December and January as the three holy months begin. In the 2026-2027 season, Laylat al-Raghaib falls on 10 December 2026, Laylat al-Mi’raj on 4 January 2027 and Laylat al-Bara’ah on 22 January 2027. For guests who wish to be at the Haram on these nights, we organise programmes that cover the dates of the holy nights. The mid-term school holiday runs from 25 January to 5 February 2027 and is the most convenient time for Umrah for teachers and students.

The blessed month of Ramadan begins on 8 February 2027, and Eid al-Fitr falls on 9 March 2027. Ramadan Umrah is the most precious time of all, when the fasts and tarawih prayers are performed at the Haram and Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Power) is spent in worship; for this reason, places fill up early. The dates departing from Kayseri are spread across the following months: November 2026, December 2026, January 2027 and March 2027. You can use the month filter in the table to choose the month that suits you.

Preparing for Umrah: Documents and Packing List

What you need to complete before you set out

Preparation for Umrah should begin a few weeks before departure. The first step is your passport: it must be valid for at least 6 months from the return date. If you do not have a passport, or if yours is about to expire, book an appointment at the civil registry office in Kayseri and start the process early. The Umrah visa procedures are handled by us after registration; all we need is a clear scan of your passport and a biometric photo with a white background.

Document checklist

  • A passport valid for at least 6 months
  • A biometric photo with a white background
  • A photocopy of your identity card
  • A parental consent letter and a civil registry record for travellers under 18
  • A doctor’s report and prescriptions for any chronic illnesses

Packing list

  • At least two sets of ihram garments and an ihram belt for men
  • Loose-fitting, light-coloured modest clothing for women
  • Comfortable slippers and shoes for long walks
  • Unscented soap, shampoo and deodorant
  • A pocket prayer mat, a pocket-sized Holy Qur’an and a book of supplications
  • Sunglasses, an umbrella and a small backpack
  • The medicines you take regularly and basic first-aid supplies
  • A portable charger and a compatible plug adapter

Health preparation is just as important as your documents. Umrah involves walking for long periods during tawaf and sa’i, so walking regularly in the weeks before your journey will improve your fitness. You can consult your family doctor about the seasonal flu vaccine and the current health requirements. At the preparation seminar we hold before the group departs, our guides explain the Umrah rites, the restrictions of ihram and practical information in detail.

How Is Umrah Performed? Umrah Step by Step

Ihram, tawaf, sa’i and shaving

The act of Umrah is completed in four stages: ihram, tawaf, sa’i and shaving. The first stage is ihram: before reaching the miqat boundary, you perform ghusl (the full ritual bath), men wrap themselves in the two unstitched pieces of ihram cloth, you make the intention for Umrah and you begin reciting the talbiyah. After entering ihram, you refrain from actions such as applying perfume, cutting your nails or trimming your hair or beard.

The second stage is tawaf. Seven circuits are made around the Holy Kaaba, keeping it on your left and starting from the corner of the Black Stone (al-Hajar al-Aswad). The Black Stone is saluted at the start of each circuit. Once tawaf is complete, two rak’ahs are prayed behind the Station of Ibrahim (Maqam Ibrahim), and then Zamzam water is drunk. The third stage is sa’i: seven circuits (shawt) are walked between the hills of Safa and Marwah, starting at Safa, made up of four outward and three return walks.

In the final stage, men have their hair shaved or shortened, while women cut a fingertip’s length from the ends of their hair; with this, the restrictions of ihram come to an end. In our group, the first Umrah is performed alongside our guide, with the supplications recited together. During the programme, guests who wish can re-enter ihram at Ji’ranah and Tan’im to perform additional Umrahs. Our guides use a radio headset system, so they can continue their explanations even in the crowds.

Where Do Our Guests from Kayseri Stay in Makkah and Madinah?

Hotel distances, meals and room arrangements by package

In our packages departing from Kayseri, accommodation is planned at different distances and standards depending on the package you choose. In the economy packages, you stay in 3-4 star hotels with a shuttle service, 2.5-4 km from the Haram in Makkah, and in hotels within 200-300 metres’ walking distance of the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah. In the walking-distance packages, the hotels in Makkah are 300-500 metres from the Haram; in the luxury packages, 200-300 metres; and in the Premium packages, 50-100 metres.

At our hotels, breakfast and dinner are served as an open buffet; on Ramadan programmes, suhoor and iftar are provided. Rooms are arranged for 2, 3 or 4 people; families can stay in the same room, while guests travelling alone share a room with travellers of the same gender. Hotel names are confirmed according to your group’s travel date and shared with you before departure. For Kayseri’s large families, requests for rooms next to each other are noted at registration.

Things to Keep in Mind During Umrah

Practical tips for a peaceful journey in the holy lands

On the Umrah journey, small precautions make things much easier. The Haram has dozens of gates; on the first day, learn the gate number your guide shows you and the direction of your hotel. Save your hotel’s location on your phone and join the group’s messaging group. If you set out early for the daily prayers, you will find a place more easily and be able to return without getting caught in the crowds.

As temperatures can rise during the day, keep water with you and choose light-coloured, loose-fitting clothes. Do not hurry during tawaf and sa’i; our guides recommend the less crowded hours for elderly guests. Keep your passport in a safe place at the hotel and carry a photocopy with you. For your cash needs, activate your bank card for use abroad before you set out.

Paying attention to silence and cleanliness in the mosques, carrying your shoes in a bag and not forcing your way into full rows all help to preserve the atmosphere of worship. It is advisable to take your souvenir photos outside the areas of worship. Whenever you do not feel well, contact your guide; your travel health insurance and our 24/7 support line are there for you at all times.

Places to Visit in Makkah and Madinah

The blessed sites visited on our guided programmes

Alongside acts of worship, our programmes include guided visits to important sites in Islamic history. In Makkah, guests visit Jabal al-Nour, home to the Cave of Hira where the first revelation came to our beloved Prophet (peace be upon him); Mount Thawr, where he took refuge during the Hijrah; Arafat, where the wuquf, the most important pillar of Hajj, takes place; Muzdalifah; and Mina. Many Companions are buried in the Jannat al-Mu’alla cemetery, foremost among them our mother Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her).

In Madinah al-Munawwarah, the prayers performed at the Prophet’s Mosque and the visit to the blessed Rawdah are the heart of the programme. Quba Mosque, the first mosque in Islam; Masjid al-Qiblatayn, where the qibla was changed from Jerusalem to the Kaaba; Mount Uhud and the Uhud Martyrs’ Cemetery; the site of the Battle of the Trench (Khandaq); and the Jannat al-Baqi cemetery are all visited with commentary from our guides. On some of our dates, visits to Taif and Badr are also added to the programme.
